Wellness is my LIFE! It has been ever since I was growing up. When I was a kid, I was picked on a lot because of my body. Even though I thought I was tough because I fought the bullies back, I did not realize that I would be affected later on in life. When I became a teen I developed body dysmorphia. Because I was always told at a very young age that there was something wrong with my body, I had a deep-rooted belief that there was always something wrong with my body. This developed into an eating disorder in my teens and I was mistreating myself and my body. I was literally making myself sick. I felt tired all the time, I felt sick, and there was chaos in my mind. One day I fell to my knees and begged GOD to help me. I was able to overcome my eating disorder and never made myself throw up again. I then knew I had to cherish, take care of, and respect my body, my mind, and my spirit. That’s when I started to dive into nutrition and fitness. I researched everything, read every book, every magazine, and went to college to study biology and chemistry. I got my first Personal trainer certification in 2009 and began to help others discover wellness and their body’s true potential. I competed in natural bikini competitions and always put my wellness first. Then in 2016, my brother passed away due to his struggles with mental illness. It was the worse thing I ever went through. Then, my own mental health started to decline. The grief made me extremely depressed and I struggled with suicidal thoughts, urges, and attempts. After hitting my lowest point I knew I had to take my mental health into my hands or I was not going to make it. I started enthralling myself into self-development. I had mastered the body, but my mind needed a lot of work. Sure, I practiced meditation and yoga before my brother passed. However, I had to develop a whole new skill set in order to begin healing. I was able to begin recovering from my depression. I was finally well enough and had the desire to help others. So I joined the mental health field. I became a registered mental health professional and started working alongside registered therapists. I worked with individuals with various different diagnoses such as PTSD, Major Depression, BiPolar, and substance abuse. I was able to help others work on and develop healthy wellness tools, and coping mechanism to manage their symptoms and even recover and improve their quality of life. I loved watching and helping others improve their lives, grow and begin to thrive. It was beautiful. I decided to get another certification in Transformational Life Coaching so I can help more people. I truly began to understand the connections of mental health, fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness. I studied and practiced breath work, hath yoga, herbal medicine (certification in herbal medicine) and began to connect all the pieces of wellness that make up a healthy happy life. Now I want to help you do the same. So what do you say? Are you ready to Level Up mentally Physically and Spiritually?
